The topic of driving whilst drowsy has had a lot of press coverage over the past few years because there have been so many incidents that were caused through drivers being tired at the wheel but did you realise this topic can also impact your van insurance premium? Direct Line insurance and the safety organisation Brake have recently undertaken a survey which revealed that 74% of motorists admitted to driving while tired in the past year and nearly 1 in 10 people admitting to doing so at least once a week.
According to Brake, it’s tired drivers who are responsible for at least 1 in 10 fatal crashes on UK roads and a shocking 1 in 5 accidents on motorways.
