Chrysler sues local T-shirt maker over use of tagline

Many Super Bowl viewers enjoyed the Chrysler advertisement that aired during the game’s commercial break. Featuring popular rapper and Detroit-native Eminem, some found the ad to be an inspirational representation of the future of Detroit and the auto industry.

“I can’t think of a more fitting way to depict Detroit’s story than to have fellow Detroit native, Eminem, announce that the city is back and to remind Americans that the revitalized Southeast Michigan auto industry is brimming with new investment and optimism,” Representative John Conyers told the Hotsheet. “This year marks a serious upturn for the city of Detroit.”

However, the ad’s popularity allegedly has a number of other companies attempting to profit from its success.

Motorcycle Deaths Decreasing in Ohio

If youre a motorcycle rider in Ohio, you might be interested to know that even as the biker population of the Buckeye state is increasing, the number of fatalities caused by motorcycle crashes is going down.

According to numbers from the Ohio State Department of Public Safety, in the first nine months of 2010, 158 bikers died in crashes. In the same time period this year, only 120 people died in motorcycle crashes.

Granted, even 120 is too many, but at least the number is getting lower, and thats a pretty good thing, considering that there are more than 711,000 Ohioans with a motorcycle endorsement or permit stamp on their drivers licenses. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles says that two years ago, there were only about 700,000 people with that endorsement.
