Subsidy for greener vehicles helps Toyota Prius break Japan sales record

Jan 11, 2011 | by Christopher Allen | No Comments »

Toyotas Prius hybrid has broken the Japanese sales record for a single car model in 2010, helped by a popular government subsidy for green vehicles, an industry group said on Tuesday.

The world’s biggest car manufacturer sold 315669 units of the Prius in Japan last year, up by 51.1% from the previous year, according to the Japanese Automobile Dealers Association.

The Prius broke a 1990 sales record of 300008 in a single year set by Toyota’s popular Corolla to take its second consecutive annual crown, the association said.

Honda’s Fit was second on the list with sales of 185439 units, up by 17.7%, followed by Toyota’s Vitz, whose sales came to 122248, up by 3.9%, the association said.

The association had earlier said Japan’s new vehicle sales last year marked the first annual gain in seven years due to a subsidy designed to encourage motorists to buy eco-friendly cars. The Prius

Important Elements of an Affordable Life Insurance Policy

Jan 09, 2011 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

When searching for the best life insurance, most writers would advise you to use comparison sites so that you’ll have enough options to choose from. That’s absolutely true! I always tell that to my readers as well. But here’s another approach in finding the right life insurance policy, consider the elements I’ll discuss below.

Term period

You might be surprised as to why I am directly suggesting term period insurance. But here’s a simple explanation for that: it is the cheapest life insurance policy available in the market and it meet the requirements of most insurance buyers.

Coverage amount

Most would say that your death benefit should range from eight to fifteen times your annual salary. Yes, that

New Year’s Day Has Most Auto Thefts

Jan 03, 2011 | by Christopher Allen | No Comments »

According to the article “Vehicle Thieves Rarely Take a Holiday” found on CarInsurance.com, the most cars are stolen on New Year’s Day and Halloween.  In 2009, New Year’s Eve was once again the leader in car thefts based on an analysis by the National Insurance Crime Bureau.  Christmas Day continues to be the day with the fewest cars stolen.

Thieves are not respecting holidays the way most Americans are.  They do seem to have some sort of respect for Christmas Day which is interesting, but other holidays, thieves are out and about looking for targets to steal.  Of the 11 holidays looked at in 2009, a total of 22,991 cars were reported stolen while 24,676 cars were stolen total in 2008.

The good news is that car thefts have been steadily decreasing for the past six years, possibly seven with the preliminary 2010 FBI Theft Data coming out soon.  It’s impor

Protect lives by driving safely near the scene of an accident

Dec 25, 2010 | by Christopher Allen | No Comments »

Earlier this month 2 paramedics attending the scene of an accident were added to the long list of December road fatalities. It is especially sad when those who try to save lives are themselves threatened by irresponsible driving behaviour of motorists near accident scenes!

The first hour after an accident is known as the Golden Hour – and paramedics might be so focused on saving lives that safety around them is not given the necessary attention.

We would like to urge all drivers to drive with caution at the scene of an accident – irrespective whether the accident scene has been secured with marker or not.

Safe Driving near Accidents

An accident scene is an important driver distraction. Man
