New York Health Insurance: Getting More Expensive

Jun 29, 2011 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

New York health insurance quotes have increased dramatically in the last year since there are less health insurance companies competing for business in the New York area.  The article “Health Care Prices in New York City Skyrocket, Residents Anxious for Obamacare Policy to Kick In” by Kenneth Lovett from the Daily News Albany discusses some of the nervous feelings residents feel as they struggle to pay for individual health insurance.

As an example, Managed Health Inc’s premiums are 30% higher this May when compared to last year.  While this does seem to be the most dramatic increase, it’s so significant that other insurers may follow suit.  The number of HMOs serving NYC has decreased from 13 in 2004 to only 7 this year.  Many insurance companies are leaving the New York market altogether.  Leslie Mor

Private Health Insurance NJ: ER Relief

Jun 29, 2011 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

Private health insurance NJ plans often cover expenses incurred in the emergency room with affordable copays.  This makes it easier for consumers to visit the ER when they need assistance.  This is good overall, but congested ERs in New Jersey are popping up and this needs to be addressed.

Long waits in ERs throughout New Jersey are not new, but the problem is not getting better.  This dilemma will hopefully be addressed by state health officials as they review the results of a 21 month pilot program to put chronic, nonemergency patients in primary care according to the article “Easing Pressure on New Jersey’s Emergency Rooms” by Carol Gorga Williams on MyCentralJersey.com.

The project hopes to ease ER conditions and offer patients with chronic conditions more consistent treatment to prevent the conditions from escalating to a more serious state.  Once in

Running engine influences insurance premium

Jun 28, 2011 | by Christopher Allen | No Comments »

The motorists in Lincolnshire might need to visit the car insurance supermarket soon if they keep on leaving their car engine running more often. The running engine will increase the chance of car theft and your good insurance cover might enable you to combat the loss. The drivers will have to bear further rise in their insurance premium if they make claim due to their irresponsible behaviour.

The new plan might have drawn serious criticism from the drivers across the country. The car owner keep the engine running as engine does not consume much fuel so the driver prefers to keep the engine running. After the MOT and fuel prices the car owners will now have to face further rise in insurance premium due to their irresponsible behaviour.

The Surrender Charge in Universal Life Insurance

Jun 27, 2011 | by admin | No Comments »

Universal Life Insurance is the insurance policy that merges investment and insurance under one plan. The investment account is credited with about 4-6% of interest if the investment is successful while the insurance account has to be kept full to ensure that your premium stays.

To surrender your life insurance means that you would like to get your money back as liquid equity. Like all other life insurances, surrender charges apply for Universal Life Insurance if you choose to by any reasons terminate it within the first certain amount of years that the policy was bought. However, the charges may be waived under certain circumstances, such as: total disability, chronic or terminal illness and other reasons.

The surrender charge is also known as the cash surrender value, which is the difference between accumulating fund and accumulated cash value. Read more…

Oklahoma Health Insurance Receives New Center

Jun 24, 2011 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

Oklahoma health insurance companies are finding out that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) has opened up its new sales center employing 48 people.  They plan on employing around 100 people over the next three years according to the insurer.

This is good news for Oklahoma since BCBSOK believes the center will have an economic impact of over $50 million.  After looking through many options, BCBSOK chose Oklahoma City for the new call center because of a high quality of workforce and local incentives the company would be eligible for.

The director of individual health sales for the parent company, Health Care Service Corp, says they are excited that the Oklahoma City services will be expanded.
