Georgia Drivers Urged to Consider Part Replacement Insurance Coverage

Mar 27, 2010 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

In the event of a severe road mishap, any smart driver would be concerned about the damage caused to their cars as well as how these cars would be repaired.

With broken or dented fenders, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and after-market parts (AMP) are in the middle of a tug-of-war for any customer’s concern over durability and price.

Executive director of the Georgia Insurance Information Service, David Colmans, explains that since a majority of car owners express concern regarding what their auto insurance policy may say about repair, it would always be wise to take the initiative and to speak with an insurance agent about what are included and excluded from a policy in the event of a crash.

Colmans said that “It’s up to the policyholder to know and understand what is and what is not covered regarding crash repairs.”

When two cars collide, both drivers will eventually have to decide whose insurer would pay for damages. If one

Auto Service Contracts: What You Need to Know

Mar 27, 2010 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

During the car buying process, your dealer may try to talk you into additional extras and services. One, in particular, is an auto service contract. Though they aren’t necessarily required, many car buyers feel enticed into buying one in order to protect themselves against unforeseen circumstances, such as expensive car repairs.

In general, auto service contracts pledge that the responsible agency, usually the car dealer, will provide the necessary services or repairs that the contract holder is entitled to.

When it comes time to make a decision about an auto service contract, these are the factors you need to consider:

1. Be aware of the terms and conditions stipulated in the auto service contract. Make sure you’re clear as to what services and repairs are included, and which are not.

2. You

How To Spot Auto Repair Fraud

Mar 27, 2010 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

Have you ever seen a person get suckered into paying more than they should have for an imaginary auto repair? Well, it happened to me. I won’t use the name of the place here. All I’m going to say is that I was taking my vehicle in for a standard oil change and left this particular place about $1,000 later. I had been led to believe that there was more wrong with my car than there really was. Truth be told, my car was brand new and there was nothing wrong with it. Shame on me, I guess- but shame on those people for trying (and successfully) fooling another customer.

It is not unusual for car owners to end up paying a lot of money to have repairs made on their vehicles. Cars require a lot of maintenance and if this maintenance is overlooked the resulting repairs can be an extreme drain on finances. Whi

More and More Young Women Are Drinking and Driving

Mar 27, 2010 | by Christopher Allen | No Comments »

We all know how dangerous drinking and driving is, but the epidemic continues and people are still dying in tragic accidents caused by drunk drivers.  According to the article “More Young Women Driving Drunk” by Steven Reinberg on BusinessWeek.com the trend is growing in young women which is very unfortunate.

Men still make up the majority of drunk drivers, but the number of drunk women on the road is growing.  A study based on data from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that women drivers involved in deadly car crashes increased over the years 1995-2007.

Weekday accidents with alcohol involved among females increased by 3.5%, and weekend alcohol related accidents increased by 2.2%.  With

Modified Vehicle Insurance – Can I Save Money On My Insurance?

Mar 27, 2010 | by Stephen Murphy | No Comments »

It is not altogether easy to get insurance for modified vehicles. However, there are some insurance companies that specialise in these types of cars, as well as modified car insurance. In many cases, insurance companies view the owner of a modified car as a racer, instead of someone who is an enthusiast.

Car enthusiasts often modify their car and it takes a great deal of effort, money, and time to get your car looking to your specifications. In general, modified car owners are ones who want their cars to be different from the standard cars driving down the road.

Now most insurance companies specialising in modified car insurance will have some requirements, but they may not be as bad as you think. For example, it may only require that you be of a specific age, such as 19.
